New state schools Superintendent Lindel Fields says he has a plan to stabilize the Oklahoma State Department of Education, and while that task will take time, he believes it can be completed during his short time in office.

Fields outlined his 10-day, 30-day and 90-day plans for the agency as he spoke to Oklahoma journalists on Tuesday, Oct. 7. The brief meeting came after he was officially sworn in to office during a ceremony inside the state Capitol’s Blue Room. Gov. Kevin Stitt – who appointed Fields on Oct. 2 – watched.
