BELVIDERE, Ill. (WTVO) — Belvidere Police have issued a missing persons alert for a 65-year-old woman, Mary Sahlin.
According to police, Sahlin has a history of mental health issues and may be suicidal.
She was reported missing on October 3rd, 2025.
Sahlin lived in an assisted living facility in Belvidere, in the 1800 block of Maple Avenue. She was seen on September 30th walking with numerous belongings and pushing a stroller, accompanied by a white poodle, along railroad tracks.
Pecatonica Police reportedly transported her to Rockford to be placed in a homeless shelter, but the shelter was full.
Sahlin is described as a white female, 5'6", 248 lbs, with green eyes, and long black hair.
