A rabid bat was discovered in neighbourhood in east Regina, according to a local veterinary clinic.

In a social media post from the Veterinary Mobility Center, it said the bat was found in the Glencairn area.

The clinic said rabies is fatal to pets and people, but preventable with the rabies vaccine.

“Pets should be kept current on rabies vaccines, even if they live indoors,” read the social media post. “Bats can and do enter homes, garages, and cabins.”
