SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Police Department (SPD) says the area around North Nevada Street and St. Thomas Moore Way will be closed temporarily following a deadly motorcycle crash.

SPD says they received calls at 1:22 p.m. on Tuesday about a high-speed crash, and multiple calls about a motorcycle traveling at 90 mph.

When police arrived on the scene, they found the driver of the motorcycle in the road. SPD says the 19-year-old driver died at the scene.

Police say based on initial information, the motorcyclist rear-ended a car.

SPD says that before the crash, officers saw the same motorcyclist near Nevada and Francis and tried to stop the motorcycle because it did not have a license plate.
