ST. LOUIS - A well-known pedestrian bridge at Forest Park is scheduled for demolition on Friday.
According to Forest Park Forever, a vehicle struck the low-clearance bridge on Forest Park Parkway, causing significant damage.
The bridge recently underwent inspection by the City of St. Louis Board of Public Service, but officials determined that it should be removed, citing safety concerns.

On Tuesday, Forest Park Forever announced the bridge’s closure.
Forest Park Forever said the demolition is planned for Oct. 10 at 7 p.m., and the removal of the low-clearance bridge should be completed by Monday, Oct. 13.
