MONTOUR FALLS, NY (WENY) -- The Humane Society of Schuyler County is overcrowded, due to a recent influx of dogs, cats, and kittens. Shelter officials said they could use some help, whether it's through donations or by spaying or neutering your pet.

"If people spayed and neutered their pets, that would help us not be in the position we're in, literally eight to 10 months out of the year. We're just overloaded with kittens (and) there is no kitten season anymore, it is most of the year," said Lily Gold, an animal care specialist with the Humane Society of Schuyler Co.

Shelter officials said that because of the number of animals that just came into the shelter, the staff/volunteers have their hands full.
