AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Deputies are searching for a murder suspect after a dead body was found at a local gas station.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday that it was on the scene at a Chevron at 1501 Laney Walker Blvd.

The sheriff’s criminal investigation division was there, as well as Augusta University police. The location is in Augusta’s medical district near AU’s health sciences campus.

On scene, deputies say they found a homeless person dead behind the business.

Following the investigation, deputies say the case has now been upgraded to a murder investigation.

Authorities are actively searching for Jeffrey Taiwan Eutsay, 42, who is also homeless, in reference to the murder.
