Two people were found dead Tuesday morning at a home outside Poulsbo, according to sheriff’s deputies.

Poulsbo fire crews responded to what was reported as an apparent suicide around 6:57 a.m., Chief Jim Gillard said. Firefighters put out the flames, then turned the scene over to the Kitsap County sheriff’s office.

Sheriff’s spokesperson Kevin McCarty said the two deceased adults were residents of the home, and the circumstances surrounding the incident were being investigated. The Kitsap County medical examiner’s office will determine what caused the deaths.

The “manner of death has not been determined by the medical examiner,” McCarty said.

The sheriff’s office declined to release the address of the fire, citing concerns about people looting the home.
