BOWLING GREEN, Ky . – Tuesday morning, the start of the KHSAA girls state golf final rounds got underway over at the Bowling Green Country Club.

The tournament features 90 individual qualifiers and within those golfers, nine schools qualify as team, and one those squads contending for the title is Bowling Green after winning the semi-state tournament for the first time in program history.

The Lady Purples finished day one tied for fifth place at +42.

Leading the group was senior Caroline Childers who shot a 78, placing her tied for 22nd.

And a string of Purples were not too far behind, as Mary Douglas Childers, Amy Tomblinson and Ellie Morgan finished the round +12 and all tied for 50th.
