Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said that a case will be filed against individuals attempting to stir unrest in the state after the death of iconic singer Zubeen Garg, noting that he will not let a Nepal-like situation prevail in the state.
He said that some people, including Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President and Jorhat MP Gaurav Gogoi, attempted to instigate violence, and they will be dealt with legal action.
In a tweet, Sarma wrote: “Certain elements, including the President of @INCAssam attempted to instigate violence and unrest following the demise of #BelovedZubeen. Assam Government will take action against those trying to foment trouble in the midst of a tragedy."
