Ogden • A teenager was shot and killed near Ben Lomond High School on Tuesday, and police said just after 5 p.m. that no one was in custody in connection with the fatal shooting.
In a news conference, Ogden Police Chief Tim Scott said the unnamed 16-year-old killed was shot near 5th Street and Gramercy Avenue and was taken to the high school, where a school resource officer and staff attempted lifesaving measures.
The child shot later died from their injuries.
Although no one is in custody, district officials said they do not believe there is an active threat to students or the community.
Ogden Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.
