For those of you who know me personally or have read one of my articles over the past nearly 20 years, you are aware that I am a turkey hunter. I have openly admitted in the past that turkeys occupy a space in my mind year-round, and to be completely honest, it appears the condition is getting worse as I age.
I spend most evenings reading hunting and fishing books or articles, and I have noticed, as of late, that my collection of books is trending toward one primary subject matter genre — the wild turkey and hunting tips and tactics for the game bird.
One thing that is very clear if you read any older turkey hunting books is that not that long ago, for those of us who have a little gray in our beards or are perhaps a little long in the tooth, most turkey hunting took place in the fall.
