MOSS POINT, Miss. (WLOX) - While Moss Point deals with a police department crisis, some community members are voicing concerns involving the fire department.
Tuesday, Jackson County NAACP President Curley Clark told WLOX News, the Dr. Reuben Morris Fire Station needs to be reopened as soon as possible.
“It’s located in one of the most densely populated parts of the city,” he said. “You’re talking about low and moderate-income homes.”
In April 2023, the city’s former fire chief closed down the station at the corner of MLK Jr. and Sue Ellen. Resources were pulled from that station and sent to Fire Station One.
