GLOVERSVILLE — Gloversville city officials trimmed $71,750 from a proposed $24.5 million budget for 2026, snipping as little as $150 from the assessor’s budget to more than $70,000 from the fire department.
The first of three City Council work sessions reviewed budget requests, line-by-line, in the assessor’s office, the city clerk and the fire department. The budget proposal includes a proposed 5.1% increase in the property tax rate, or $1 per $1,000 of assessed property value.
