EAGLE – By the time Peak to Peak’s Jack Brayman teed off in the second round of the Class 3A boys golf tournament at Eagle Ranch, catching the leader seemed out of the question.
But he’d be foolish to not try.
He wasted no time in taking his chances like on the par-5 second, where he ripped a fairway wood to the backside of the green, getting there in two. He made par, but he kept with the strategy andmade birdies on No. 4 and 5, the first two of six on the day, and shot a 2-under-par 70 in thefinal round.
He couldn’t catch Lutheran’s Nicholas Brooks, the eventual state champion who shot 10-underfor the tournament, but he did finish in second place at 3-under.
