(FOX40.COM) -- As of Tuesday, three people remain hospitalized after a harrowing helicopter crash on U.S. Highway 50 in Sacramento. It happened on Monday around 7 p.m.

That route is widely recognized as one of the area's busiest roads, but some may not realize just how close it was to the Elmhurst residential area, where dozens of homes and people are still shaken from the incident.

FOX40 went to the neighborhood to speak with people who live near the scene of the crash. Our team also spoke with one man who captured the whole incident on camera.

"It was just... it was pretty loud, Bychkoviak said. "And then there was no explosion, thank God."
