During the regular meeting of the Piedmont City Council Tuesday evening, Fire Chief Todd Kirkland informed that Council his Department had been approved for a Grant in the amount of $13,934 from the Coosa Valley RC&D Council. The funds will be used to purchase furniture for the Scout Hut which the department is renovating to be used as a training center. Chief Kirkland ask the council to approve the purchase of the furniture In the amount of just over $12,000. The Council approved the request.

Police Chief Nathan Johnson informed the Council his Department had received a Grant from ADECA for Traffic Overtime. Chief Johnson will have to turn in the overtime hours worked by his officers, the City will pay the employee and then ADECA will reimburse the City for the expense. The amount is $25
