The Newcastle Knights’ NRLW spiritual leader Yasmin Clydsdale continues to make her mark on and off the field.

A fan favourite for her work throughout the community, the proud Novocastrian was named the club’s 2025 Player of the Year at its awards ceremony on Tuesday 7 October.

She also picked up the Knight in Shining Armour Award.

But, the celebrations were tempered somewhat by the news Jesse Southwell and Sheridan Gallagher would be among the team’s departures in 2026.

It’s understood the former’s headed to Brisbane and the latter to Canberra.

Given the honour of captaincy at the start of the season, Clydsdale led from the front with an average of 141 run metres, two tries and 19 offloads.

It completed a memorable 2025 for her.
