WOODFORD COUNTY, Ill. – A motorcyclist died in a two-vehicle crash just north of Goodfield on Tuesday.

Woodford County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Dennis Tipsword says the crash occurred just before 6:00 P.M. at State Route 117 and Timberline Road.

Tipsword says both were northbound on Route 117 when the motorcyclist was slowing to make a turn onto Timberlane, but was struck from behind by the driver of a black Chevrolet passenger vehicle.

He says the motorcyclist was thrown from their bike, and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Chevrolet driver was not injured, but issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

The identity of the motorcyclist is being withheld, pending notification of family.
