Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on chief minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of being “inhuman and insensitive” after she visited North Malda MP Khagen Murmu in a Siliguri hospital but allegedly ignored MLA Sankar Ghosh, who was admitted in the same facility.

“Her behaviour reflects how mentally inhuman she has become,” Mr Adhikari told reporters. He also dismissed the chief minister’s statements on the attacks on the BJP MP and MLA, saying: “Khagen Murmu’s condition is serious — a facial bone has been fractured, and doctors have said at least six weeks will be required for his full recovery with the help of traction. He is under close observation, and we may shift him to AIIMS for better treatment.”
