DULUTH — At the end of halftime of the Section 7AAA quarterfinal Tuesday, the Duluth East girls engaged in something that’s become a bit of a ritual for the Greyhounds.
They gathered in a circle and they started to sing.
“You put your right arm in, you take your right arm out, put your right arm in and you shake it all about,” they sang. “Do the Hokey Pokey and you turn yourself around — that’s what it’s all about.”
It was pretty easy for the Greyhounds to be having a little in-game fun. They were up 11-0 at halftime over Cambridge-Isanti en route to a 14-0 win and a spot in the Section 7AAA semifinal.
Still, Tuesday’s avalanche of goals wasn’t just a blip for the Greyhounds, they’ve been building toward the playoffs for weeks.
“They’re enjoying the game — which is key,” coach Steve P
