CLEVELAND, Ohio – Witnesses in Bionca Ellis’ murder trial Tuesday described her movements and behavior on the day authorities say she stabbed 3-year-old Julian Wood in a supermarket parking lot.

“It happened so fast. I saw her (Ellis), and I saw the knife. It was bloody,” said Karin Kollar, a retired nurse who had just finished loading groceries into her car on June 3, 2024, when she heard screams outside the Giant Eagle in North Olmsted.

Cuyahoga County prosecutors say Ellis, 34, followed Julian and his mother, Margot Wood, out of the store and randomly attacked them. Her trial on aggravated murder, attempted murder, felonious assault and other charges began Monday before Common Pleas Judge John Russo.
