PHOENIX — An exit ramp in the East Valley is closing for approximately two months as part of an ongoing freeway widening project.

The eastbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway off-ramp at Arizona Avenue in Chandler will close at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday and reopen in mid-December, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

ADOT advised drivers headed eastbound on Loop 202 to instead exit at Alma School or McQueen roads during the closure.

The traffic authority also noted that the off-ramp at Price Road reopened on Tuesday after it was closed for two months during construction.

Why is the Loop 202 Santan Freeway exit ramp closing for 60 days?

The closure is part of the $200-million Loop 202 Improvement Project, which started in August 2024 and was expected to last 2.5 years.
