C annon Beach, the mammoth mixed-use development in East Mesa that’s bringing surfing back to the desert, is hosting a block party so the public can see what all the fuss is about.

The free event, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Cannon Beach, 4537 S. Power Road near Warner Road, will include music, food vendors, a petting zoo, costume contest, and foam truck.

Of course, the main attraction is Revel Surf, a 2-acre surf lagoon with white sandy beach, although there’s also a skate park, restaurants and more to come to the 37-acre site.

This family friendly party aims to aquaint more people to what organizers say is “the vibrant energy and unique offerings of Cannon Beach in a fun atmosphere.”
