Doda/Jammu, Oct 8: A 32-year-old woman was killed and five others were injured when a boulder rolled down from a hillock and struck a passenger vehicle in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, officials said.
The incident occurred near Baswal village along the Doda–Bharat road, a stretch often prone to falling debris and landslides, they added.
Rescue teams rushed to the spot and evacuated the victims, all residents of Bharat Bagla village, to the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital in Doda for treatment.
One passenger, identified as Razia Begum (32), succumbed to her injuries, while Sonia Devi (32), Zulaikha Begum (30), Kamran (2), Ghulam Hassan (31), and Imran Hussain (4) were admitted with multiple injuries.
