Week 8 of the North Carolina high school football season features several Wilmington-area teams jockeying for playoff positioning as we approach the end of the 11-week regular season.

With the state football playoffs now just 31 days away, most area teams need every win they can get to keep postseason hopes alive.

In Wilmington, Ashley (2-4, 1-1 Carolina Coast) hosts North Brunswick (3-4, 2-1 CCC) as both teams look to end the season strong after slow starts.
