Bengaluru South was buzzing with unexpected news late last night when authorities sealed the popular Vels Studio, also known as Jollywood and Entertainment Limited, in the Bidadi Industrial Area. The closure comes after the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) ordered a shutdown. They cited serious violations of environmental laws.

Vels Studio is the popular shooting location for Bigg Boss Kannada. Now the sudden closure has brought production to an abrupt halt. Reports suggest that the show’s organizers failed to comply with critical air and water pollution norms.

SS Lingaraju, the Member Secretary of KSPCB, spoke to ANI about the situation, clarifying that the board’s concerns were primarily with Vels Studio itself.
