Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s remark about an opposition member’s height has caused a flutter in the Legislative Assembly.
The comment was made on Wednesday as the Congress-led opposition disrupted assembly proceedings for the third consecutive day over Sabarimala temple’s “missing gold”. Opposition members also trooped to the Floor of the House, holding banners and placards in a way that hid the Speaker’s face.
In response, Vijayan said, “Have we seen a protest anywhere in the country where the opposition hides the Speaker. What is their demand? They are afraid of facts, but they are creating a smokescreen. We are not afraid of any smokescreen. We have never protected culprits.”
