NORRISTOWN — A Flourtown man will spend up to eight years in prison after he stole $3.7 million from the estate of a 92-year-old woman while he was the executor of her will and another $75,000 from a second woman in her 90s who he befriended at church.

James Batt, 66, of the unit block of Grove Avenue in the Flourtown section of Springfield Township, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 2 to 8 years in a state correctional facility after he pleaded guilty to charges of theft by deception, theft by unlawful taking and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received in connection with incidents that occurred between September 2019 and October 2023.
