Dolly Parton's sister has posted an apology on social media for any alarm caused by her appeal for prayers for the country music icon.
Frieda Parton wrote on Wednesday, "I want to clear something up. I didn't mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly. She's been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer. It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister."
Dolly Parton recently postponed her first Las Vegas residency in 32 years, citing “health challenges."
She was scheduled to perform six shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas". However her dates have been moved to next year — Sept. 2026.
On Tuesday, Frieda Parton had originally posted that she was "up all night praying for my sister, Dolly" adding, "Many of you know she hasn't been feeling her best lately."
Earlier this month, Parton was unable to attend the announcement of a new ride at her Tennessee theme park Dollywood due to health issues.
