At least 40 people have been killed and dozens more wounded after a motorised paraglider was used to drop bombs on a crowd in Myanmar.
Around 100 people had gathered in the Chaung U township for the Thadingyut full moon festival celebrating a national holiday around 7pm on Monday.
The area has been a key battleground in the civil war triggered after the military seized power from the elected government led by Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi in 2021.
A member of the festival organising committee who did not want to be named told the BBC the military were behind the deadly attack.
She said people had gathered for the festival and as part of an anti-junta protest.
