Jammu, Oct 3: The Jammu and Kashmir Finance Department has approved a 25 percent increase in the Children Education Allowance (CEA) and Hostel Subsidy for government employees, following a 50 percent rise in Dearness Allowance effective from January 1, 2024.

Under the revised rates, CEA will be Rs. 2,812.50 per month, Hostel Subsidy Rs. 8,437.50, and CEA for Divyang children Rs. 5,625.

The move aims to provide greater financial support to employees for education and hostel expenses of their children, reflecting the government’s commitment to welfare measures in line with cost-of-living adjustments.
