SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – A Sabal Point Elementary paraprofessional resigned after self-reporting “concerning thoughts” to a school resource officer, according to Seminole County Public Schools.

The school district on Friday issued a statement about the incident, which happened on Sept. 24.

According to the sheriff’s office, the 23-year-old paraprofessional had requested to be placed under a Baker Act because he had thoughts about cutting a 6-year-old’s throat with a knife when he was became frustrated with the student. He also said he thought about carrying out a school shooting, according to authorities.
