CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – Two people from Algona have been arrested for extensive credit card fraud in Cerro Gordo County.

Noarys Abreu Perera, 31, is charged with ongoing criminal conduct and five counts of unauthorized use of credit cards. Danisbel Delgado Horta, 34, is accused of ongoing criminal conduct, forgery, and six counts of unauthorized use of a credit card.

Investigators say Perera and Horta used forged and stolen credit card information to make multiple purchases in Clear Lake between May 18 and May 30. The criminal complaint states the two “engaged in a pattern of specified unlawful activity designed to secure financial gain on a continuing basis in Cerro Gordo County and throughout the State of Iowa.”
