Four candidates seek election to the unexpired term on Cleveland Municipal Court created when Judge Lauren C. Moore was elected last year to the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court and took that office in January. Gov. Mike DeWine then appointed assistant county prosecutor Christopher Woodworth to the Municipal Court vacancy until voters had a chance to weigh in this fall.

Woodworth, 39, took office in March and is now among the four formally seeking election Nov. 4 to complete Moore’s unexpired term, which ends Jan. 1, 2028.

Also contesting are Brett Earle Horton, 56, a longtime local attorney with the family Horton & Horton law firm; Nikki McGowan, 39, an assistant Cuyahoga County public defender, and Joseph Russo, who will turn 70 shortly after the election, a former Juvenile Court jud
