(WJW) -- It's no secret that a dollar doesn't go as far as it used to, and new data is examining just how far a $100,000 income can go in some of America's "best small towns."The study compiled by GOBankingRates looked at 50 towns across the U.S. The towns selected were rated high for quality of life and had populations between 1,000 and 10,000 residents.
The question: How much money is left over after paying the cost-of-living?
The answer was determined by calculating the area's take-home pay after taxes, by using ADP’s Salary Paycheck Calculator, as well as the cost of living for necessities, to find the leftover savings.
The study found Ohio towns made the list far more than any other state.
