You’d be hard-pressed to find a more scenic fried fish spot in Oregon.
Along a quiet branch of the Nehalem River as it snakes out to the Pacific Ocean, the little white food cart sits on a back patio dotted with picnic tables and chairs where people can relax beside the water. In the summer, people lounge lazily in the sun, waiting for their food to come out. In the winter, they unwind on a heated deck protected from the elements.
Kayakers are known to paddle up to the bucolic setting, where they can pull their boats out of the water near the food cart and grab their fried fish to go.
“It really helps keep your attitude at work really good,” said Kris Whittle, who owns the food cart Riverside Fish n’ Chips with her husband, RJ. “I look forward to going to work all the time.”
