Morristown East is taking a brief break from conference play and travels to Karns on Friday.

The ‘Canes (1-6, 0-2) are coming off a 45-0 shutout at home against Science Hill, and head coach Dallas Kuykendall is hoping that his squad finds some comfort level after an injury-riddled season.

“Looking for a lot of new faces to step up,” he said. “We got a lot of people out, so we’re gonna have to play some new people. And we’re looking for them to get their opportunity, first and foremost. But we’re also going out there and playing hard and playing our standard of football. I think, at times, we played with that on Friday against Science Hill, and at times we didn’t. So, just looking for a more consistent brand of football for four quarters.”
