Rio Ferdinand believes former teammate Wayne Rooney will jump at the next managerial opportunity.

The England legend was most recently sacked by Plymouth in December 2024, after difficult spells at Derby, DC United and Birmingham .

Earlier this week, Rooney told talkSPORT he is in no hurry to return to the dugout .

But fellow Manchester United legend Ferdinand expects to see him back on the grass soon.
