Anti-racists attempting to remove Saltire and Lion Rampant flags from lampposts on a Scots street were allegedly confronted by a member of the public "threatening to slit their throats" in an ugly row.
The confrontation took place in Edinburgh on Sunday October 5, when members of Stand Up to Racism (SUTR) attended an address in Sighthill after receiving complaints about the flags from nearby residents and neighbours.
As they attempted to take the flags down, SUTR claim the male threatened the group then proceeded to vandalise their equipment.
A spokesperson for the group said: "On October 5, SUTR supporters attempted to remove saltire and lion rampant flags on lampposts in Sighthill. The council took them down on September 12 but they were re-erected.
