BOISE, Idaho — Around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, residents of Ada County may get an alert on their phones. The Ada County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) states this is simply a test.

According to an update from ACSO, the agency is testing its emergency alerting capabilities within the Avimor neighborhood.

The Ada County Emergency Communications Center will be testing the alert capabilities on Oct. 8, around 6 p.m.

Those living in the Avimor area can expect to receive test alerts on their cell phones, a news release states. The drill will test two systems. ACSO states that both systems are crucial in communicating safety plans to residents.

Due to two systems needing to be tested, residents can expect to receive more than one alert.
