Title: Dolly Parton's Sister Provides Health Update Amid Concerns
Dolly Parton’s sister, Freida Parton, has shared an update regarding the country music icon's health after asking fans for prayers. This plea came a week after Dolly postponed her Las Vegas residency due to health issues. Freida, 68, took to Facebook to clarify her earlier message, stating, "I want to clear something up. I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly."
Freida explained that Dolly, 79, has been feeling unwell and that her request for prayers stemmed from her strong belief in their power. "It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister. Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference," she added.
In a previous post, Freida shared a photo of Dolly praying, expressing her deep concern. "Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately," she wrote. Freida encouraged fans to join her in prayer, stating, "She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!"
Dolly Parton recently announced the postponement of her six scheduled performances at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, originally set for December. She cited health challenges and the need for medical procedures as reasons for the delay. In her Instagram announcement, she reassured fans, saying, "As many of you know, I’ve been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures."
Parton emphasized her commitment to delivering a quality performance, stating, "I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you."
Despite the health concerns, Parton assured her fans that she is not retiring. She announced that her Las Vegas shows have been rescheduled for September 2026. Earlier this month, she also canceled her appearance at a Dollywood event due to complications from a kidney stone, which had led to an infection.
Freida's comments were echoed by their sister, Stella Parton, who addressed criticism for not providing updates on Dolly's health. Stella stated, "I personally respect the privacy of ALL my family members and will not disrespect them by discussing their personal business with anyone."
Dolly Parton is also set to receive an honorary Oscar next month, although reports indicate she may not attend the ceremony in Los Angeles due to her health issues.
As fans continue to express their support, Freida's messages highlight the family's close bond and their hope for Dolly's recovery.
