TROY, Pa. — A former standout wide receiver for Southern Columbia High School, Penn State, and Ohio State faced a judge in Bradford County Wednesday morning on charges that he was under the influence when his ATV crashed this spring , fatally wounding his girlfriend.

Julian Fleming, 24, was arraigned on several charges, including homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, and aggravated assault by vehicle.

Fleming was involved in an ATV crash back in May just north of Troy that killed his girlfriend, 23-year-old Alyssa Boyd.

The couple was traveling north on Painter Lick Lane in Columbia Township when a deer jumped into the road. They were not wearing safety equipment.

Boyd died at the scene of the crash. Fleming was seriously wounded and treated at Guthrie Troy Communit
