Sembcorp Industries said on Wednesday that its subsidiary, Sembcorp Green Infra, will acquire ReNew Sun Bright for around Singapore $246 million, or roughly (US) $191 million, its third acquisition in the Indian renewables space in the last 36 months.

The acquisition aids the energy and urban solutions provider, which commissioned India’s first Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) auction wind project in 2018, to add 300 megawatt (MW) of operational solar power project to its overall renewables portfolio helping it to reach 6.9 gigawatts (GW).
