The Dutchess County Board of Elections is looking to hire poll inspectors for Election Day .

On Nov. 4, civic-minded individuals can serve as poll inspectors, according to an announcement by the county Board of Elections on Oct. 7.

"Poll inspectors are essential to running smooth elections and helping voters have a positive experience — it's very rewarding work," Democratic Commissioner Lisa Jessup said.

Republican Commissioner Erik Haight said Election Day workers are "the front line of our democratic process, ensuring a free and fair election. I implore anyone willing and able to do their civic duty to reach out to us for training and an assignment at a polling location near their home."
