HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - The high school football game between Fort Knox and McLean County High School has been rescheduled after it was indefinitely postponed due to the government shutdown.

The teams will take the field at Paulsen Stadium at 7 p.m. on October 18. The government shutdown impacted extracurricular and athletic activities at high schools including the communities in Fort Campbell and Fort Knox.

Last week, Senator Mitch McConnell made a statement urging Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to reconsider the impact that the decision to not except athletic activities could have on student-athletes.
