Coming down heavily on the Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday charged that after the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, the Congress-led UPA avoided military strikes against Pakistan following pressure from a third country. Modi's charge comes as the Centre is facing scrutiny over US President Donald Trump's claims of halting Operation Sindoor.

Addressing during the inauguration of Navi Mumbai International Airport, Prime Minister Modi charged that Congress's weakness "strengthened terrorists" in the aftermath of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. "The country had to repeatedly pay for this mistake by sacrificing lives," Modi charged.
