The man accused in the death of his stepmother, 67-year-old Darlene Giba, has pleaded not guilty to the charge of second-degree murder.

Jury selection in the trial for 43-year-old Cameron Adomko began on Monday and the trial opened before presiding judge, Justice Robin Lepere, in a Thunder Bay Courtroom on Tuesday.

Adomko was first arrested on June 27, 2023 and charged with second-degree murder after Giba was found unresponsive inside her Mary Street home earlier that morning.

Crown attorney David Pierce provided the jury with an outline of the evidence that will be presented at trial.
