West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi “not to trust Union Home Minister Amit Shah always.” The Chief Minister alleged that the Union Home Minister is behaving like an “acting Prime Minister.”

The West Bengal Chief Minister linked Amit Shah to Mir Jafar, the 18th-century military general who betrayed Nawab Siraj ud-Daulah at the Battle of Plassey.

While speaking to reporters at the airport after her visit to flood-affected areas, CM Banerjee said, “Cuttack is burning. BJP, Bajrang Dal did communal rights there.
