GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) - A man is in custody for stealing his girlfriend’s car after a fight and leading police on a chase.

According to the Garfield Heights Police, on Sept. 22, a woman came into the police department to report that she had been assaulted and had her car stolen.

She told officers that she had picked up her boyfriend, Joseph Wynn, and as they were driving home near 131st Street and Saybrook Avenue, they got into an argument.

The argument escalated, and the woman said Wynn spat in her face. She pulled the car over, got out and demanded that Wynn get out because she was going to leave him.

She told police that Wynn refused and slid over to the driver’s seat, and when she tried to pull him from the car, he bit her and drove off.
